Each year on Ganesh Chaturthi, devotees host Ganesha idols in their homes and in their neighbourhoods. Everyone’s go-to god for getting rid of obstacles comes over for a brief stay. On the day of Anant Chaturdashi, 10 days after Ganesh Chaturthi, these idols are taken out in on a procession before immersion in a nearby water body.
